Erratum: 2024 dropped during the September update
Between the 17/09 and the 01/10, several periods were missing from the results. This was due to a bug in the background process that downloads the latest revisions from Eurostat and merges them with the existing database.
Candidate countries and Northern Ireland were missing as reporters for the year 2023. For 2024, the Member States and Northern Ireland were missing. Since the EU's and its Member States' trade are what is interesting most of the users of this website, I assume this should have been noticed the most. And for 2025, again candidate countries and Northern Ireland were missing. The numbers of the other non-missing (that is present) series were correct.
Now the database is fully rebuilt. I was on vacation when this failure happened, hence I did not check immediately the consistency of the background update. Now, I found and patched the bug. I will monitor closely the next update mid-October.
In other news, to prevent abuses from robots, I discontinued the possibility for users to consult two codes without registering. Some AI-driven servers found a way to circumvent the two codes limit by connecting from several thousand different IPs. While I was happy to see that the server was able to bear the load of all those connections, it still degraded the quality of service for other users.
