Customs codes describe broad categories, not individual products or brands. These categories are defined precisely through their technical characteristics. That is why there is no “Ferrari” or “red sports car” code, but “motor vehicles for under 10 persons”, broken down by engine size. Likewise, no “Unleaded 95”, but “motor spirit” broken down by lead content and octane rating.

Import prices include freightImports are valued CIF, exports FOB. As a result, import unit prices are not directly comparable to export prices.
The Rotterdam/Antwerp effect distorts Belgian and Dutch figuresThe prices and quantities of goods are recorded at customs clearance. Beware of confusing imports with consumption: countries with heavy port activity do not necessarily consume everything they import.
Outlier prices are filtered by defaultPeriods with unit prices exceeding 20× their series median are excluded by default. Click on “Keep” to include them.
